Candle Reviews for Fall and Winter

Essential candles to help you transition into the holiday season.

The scent of your home is one of the first things that guests notice. Everyone’s has one, and we all should want ours to reflect our personality and style. Full transparency: I am addicted to scents in general. I love perfumes, essential oils, and, of course, candles.
My nose is very sensitive, so I am very particular about the candles I purchase. I have a wide range of scents I enjoy, depending on my mood. They are one of the few items I will always have around the house. Candles make a great gift for anyone, and are essential for the holidays when more guests come around. Below you will find reviews of some of my recent finds.

Moroccan Lemongrass

Starting with something vibrant, this candle immediately lifted my mood upon use. It features hints of citronella, lime, and obviously, lemongrass. It’s a masking scent, but does not come off too strong. There is also a floral essence about it that brings a bit of elegance. The packaging is simple, and it’s 100% soy based. I absolutely love citrus scents, when done right, so I will definitely be keeping this one in my rotation.

Eucalyptus and Rosemary

If you are someone who prefers a more mild scent, this may be the candle for you. It is one of those scents that is much more noticeable to guests than a frequent user. The eucalyptus provides a very clean and calming vibe, while the rosemary helps bring some earthiness back into it. I love using this one while getting ready for bed. The packaging is absolutely beautiful (a common theme for La Jolie Muse) and is part of the reason I purchased it. It would be a great jar to reuse.

Santal Vanille

Whenever the temperature begins to drop, I immediately want a vanilla scented candle. It brings a sense of nostalgia, and sends me right into my comfort zone. However, finding a vanilla scented candle that you can smell, but is not completely overwhelming and sweet can be a challenge. This one has a perfect balance. The packaging on this one is also one of my favorites. It’s chic and has quickly become one of my all time favorites.

Vanilla Bomb

This is one of my new obsessions. Another Vanilla candle. This one has more of a natural scent. The burn time is truly impressive. It carries a scent that is noticeable and fills the room, but isn’t overwhelming. It smells natural, but also maintains an elegant vibe. I could go on for hours, but I’ll cut to the point. If you are someone who enjoys a cozy and homey scent, and can handle the more earthy and natural scents, you should immediately purchase this candle. You will not regret it. I will be keeping this in my rotation for the foreseeable future.

M&SENSE

Fresh Sage Citrus

I bought this candle on a whim and was incredibly impressed by everything about this candle. The burn time was incredible. You can forget about it for a while, and it won’t completely burn itself through. It’s a slow burn, and the scent is very unique. The citrus is light and bright, while the sage brings in an earthy balance. I felt so zen whenever this candle was burning, and was so impressed I had to immediately test out another candle from the brand.

M&SENSE

Sugared Lemon Zest

Following the impressive Fresh Sage Citrus candle, I decided to go with a stronger scent for my next purchase. The name is perfectly descriptive of the scent. It smells like a fresh lemon pound cake. The candle honestly makes me hungry. I burn it in the mornings as a drink my tea and begin my work day. All I could think of was how lovely this smell would be for a party. It’s energetic and comforting. I can’t wait to try another scent from this brand, as they have truly impressed me. The value you get for the price is crazy. These are high-quality and long lasting candles under $20. Run, don’t walk.
